I have always really liked computers. When I was seventeen years old my dad bought me my own computer. I kept it for five years and then I bought my laptop that I have now. I thought that it would be a great idea if I made computing ring my career.
I applied for a job in an office when I was eighteen years old. I got that job so I had felt really delighted. I had to do enter facts and figures to the computer I used. I used databases that were fairly simple to use. I stayed in that first job for three years.
At age twenty one I decided I wanted a different job. I applied for a job at a vets as a receptionist. I had to email different clients and download information about different pet medicines. My job title changed after one year of working there. I became a web designer for the group of vet surgeries. I really enjoyed doing the web site development for the twelve different vets. I stayed on that web site development job for four years.
I keen to apply for a job for a web site development office for a public library. I was for fifty different libraries across the whole area. I was short listed and then I had to do a presentation which was very nerve racking. A week had gone past and I didn't think I had been successful. Then they had called me and asked if I wanted to start on the Monday. Of course I did.
I really felt on top of the world working as a web site development officer. I sat in a smart office from Monday to Wednesday using a computer to create different web sites. Then I did something slightly different from web site development and that was visiting libraries and teaching people how to set up their own basic website. I felt that had been the most enjoyable aspect of my work.
I decided to start up my own business teaching computing for the terrified on Saturdays. I felt so fulfilled and delighted with my career choice. My salary was thirty thousand pounds a year. My business become worth fifty thousand pounds. I did it in my spare room that used to be my garage. It was popular with retired people and middle aged folk. Each person paid two pounds an hour. Then I began selling computing equipment as well.
