When I just moved into my apartment there was one problem, I did not have Internet. However there was no need to fear, there was a local Internet provider around my area that offered cheap rates as well as a free web page design service which I found to be pretty nice. I called their branch in my area and found that they could install a high speed cable connection in my room the next day. The next day, the cable guy came and started to install the Internet cable that would provide me access to the net. Once the cable was installed and my computer connected, he explained to me all of the features of the net and what his internet provider gives me. First, I got a free e-mail address with junk email filtering and one gigabyte of storage. Second, I got high speed access to the Internet. As he was explaining this, I thought that this Internet provider is very helpful in getting me started. Once he left, I immediately connected to the net and found the great convenience that the Internet has brought me. I can shop online, do research in a flash, play games, and many more on the Internet. I checked my email and saw my junk email filter at work sifting out all of the bad, spam emails from the emails that I actually care about. Soon, as I used the Internet more often, more and more junk email came into my inbox which started to bother me a lot. I contacted my Internet provider and asked them to strengthen my junk email filter which they did without a problem. Ever since I had gotten high speed Internet, doing everyday things such as shopping, research, social networking, and playing games have been easier for me. I soon discovered instant messaging and found that I can contact my friends in an instant without having to call them first which I found to be very convenient. Also, internet calling also struck me as extremely convenient since I do not have to use the phone to call my friends, I can now use my computer. The internet has made my life much easier.
