The computer and the Internet world have come a long way since it first began more than twenty years ago. When computers were first rolled out for commercial use, people were used to monochrome screens and pages. I remember my first game console where it was simple to play and was set against a monochrome screen. All you had to do was move the cursor in order to play the game. It was simple, and if I would let kids play on it today, they would probably roll on the floor and laugh. But during my time, it was hip and I was one of the "in" kids who owned her own computer game console.

My friend Abel is a computerwhizand has been working for home for over a year now. I am so jealous of him because while I have to get up at six every day to drive over an hour and a half to my job all he does is get up, put on a pot of coffee and he is ready to begin his work day. Hedoesn'teven have to change intoregularclothes, most days he works in is pyjamas. What exactly is web site development? I asked my boyfriend about this when I found out that he does this for a hobby. He says he likes to surf the web for new websites. I don't have a lot of experience with the computer, and certainly don't know all that much about web site development. He says that will show me how it all works if I wanted to. He did tell him that it did strike my interest but never really looked into it because I didn't understand it. He said that he will start showing me how it works by getting me a domain name for my very own web site. He said that he will do all the web site development himself for my web site.

This story is about a computer class my oldest son Pier and his friends are taking. They want to learn how to be web designers so they are taking some computer courses through the summer. Pier and some of his friends work part time as web designers. He is so involved in learning about the computer that he tried his talent at being a programmer. His friends and he spend a lot time in the chat room discussing about being a programmer and how they want to be web designers. Pier spends most of his time dreaming about being a programmer, but he spends more time talking to his friends about them being web designers and being a programmer. A software is a piece of program written bya programmer to make things user friendly for the users and at the same time convert them into these 1s and 0s so that the computer understands them too. 5am. I cannot sleep, money troubles haunt over me. I turn on my laptop. The light is blinding me but I somehow make my way onto the internet to check my on-line banking. 'I'm sorry but your on-line banking details cannot currently be displayed'. Oh great that's just what I need I thought to myself. When I just moved into my apartment there was one problem, I did not have Internet. However there was no need to fear, there was a local Internet provider around my area that offered cheap rates as well as a free web page design service which I found to be pretty nice. I called their branch in my area and found that they could install a high speed cable connection in my room the next day. The next day, the cable guy came and started to install the Internet cable that would provide me access to the net. Once the cable was installed and my computer connected, he explained to me all of the features of the net and what his internet provider gives me. First, I got a free e-mail address with junk email filtering and one gigabyte of storage. Second, I got high speed access to the Internet. As he was explaining this, I thought that this Internet provider is very helpful in getting me started. Once he left, I immediately connected to the net and found the great convenience that the Internet has brought me. I can shop online, do research in a flash, play games, and many more on the Internet. I checked my email and saw my junk email filter at work sifting out all of the bad, spam emails from the emails that I actually care about. Soon, as I used the Internet more often, more and more junk email came into my inbox which started to bother me a lot. I contacted my Internet provider and asked them to strengthen my junk email filter which they did without a problem. Ever since I had gotten high speed Internet, doing everyday things such as shopping, research, social networking, and playing games have been easier for me. I soon discovered instant messaging and found that I can contact my friends in an instant without having to call them first which I found to be very convenient. Also, internet calling also struck me as extremely convenient since I do not have to use the phone to call my friends, I can now use my computer. The internet has made my life much easier.
